No pain, no gain? No way! The latest laser treatments are saying goodbye to the assumption that you’ve got to grit your teeth and bear it to see the best results (and hide away from the office for days while the downtime – aka redness, swelling and bruising – calms down).
One example – the K-Laser Blue Derma – uses innovative blue laser technology in the quest to reduce side effects, and it can give you the results you crave for a whole range of concerns, including acne, wrinkles, and vesicular lesions. Here’s five reasons why we are intrigued here at TTG Towers…
1. It uses blue light technology
You’re probably familiar with blue light’s use for your skin in the form of blue light LED therapy. There its mainly used for its antibacterial and antimicrobial effect on the surface of your skin, so it’s celebrated for helping clear up acne.
The K-Laser takes this one step further. It also uses blue light but in waves that are synchronised and focused to form a precise beam of light that can penetrate your skin more deeply and more accurately to treat a wide range of concerns. This precision is also want reduces thermal damage to surrounding tissues (more on both of those things later).
2. You don’t have to hide away post-treatment
Laser rejuvenation has always been good at treating your skin concerns but often less great with side effects. Traditionally, fairly long-lasting redness, swelling, peeling and general discomfort were all par for the course – and no one really wants to have to book lots of time off work until it all dies down. Luckily, as is the trend with many exciting new lasers hitting the market, the K-Laser’s precision beam causes less trauma to the skin, reducing the need for healing and recovery times to less than 24 hours for most patients.
3. It’s lunchtime-worthy fast
Not only is this laser precise, it’s fast. There’s no need for numbing cream or general anaesthetic for the majority of treatments, meaning your procedure time can be as short as five minutes for small concerns, and probably not much more than half an hour for larger areas. For anyone who feels ‘too busy’ to sort that annoying blemish or mark on your skin, that’s potentially great option.
That’s not to say you should rush into having a treatment though. As always, you need to research the right expert practitioner for you and then discuss with them in detail your goals with a pre-treatment consultation. That way you can be confident you’ll see the results you crave.
4. It’s versatile
What’s especially impressive about this device is the variety of concerns it can treat. It’s effective for both ablative (top layer of the skin removing) and non-ablative procedures, offering everything from gentle resurfacing to more intensive therapies. The blue light it welds is particularly well-suited for targeting pigmented and vascular lesions, and, due to its antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, it’s great for acne too. It also promotes collagen production and tissue healing, so can tackle your fine lines and other skin texture improvements.
However, unfortunately, that doesn’t mean it is suitable for everyone. In particular, we’d approach with caution if you have Black skin. As with some other laser technology, the K-Laser could trigger unwanted pigmentation changes as a rare (but important to note) side effect.
5. It’s backed by research
Finally, we love clinical research here at TTG Towers and K-Laser has multiple studies to demonstrate its effectiveness and safety. That includes the precision and antimicrobial properties of the blue light wavelength; its effectiveness at treating vascular lesions with minimal side effects; and its advantages for kick-starting skin rejuvenation – all with its ‘no downtime’ approach.
