It was fantastic to see so many of you at the sell-out Tweakments Guide Live evening last week, and to celebrate the return of these soirees which offer the chance to find out more about leading brands of tweakments technology, advanced supplements, skincare and haircare, to hear experts talking about their work, to try out some of the latest procedures, and to book in for a private one-to-one chat with top practitioners.
I dreamed up these events in 2019, to help those of you who were curious about aesthetic medicine, but who didn’t yet feel ready to book in with a practitioner, to discover more about the whole area, and to see that the practitioners registered on The Tweakments Guide are not needle-wielding maniacs intent on ‘doing you over’, but thoughtful, highly-skilled experts who will listen to your concerns and help you towards a solution.
The team of practitioners who offered one-to-one mini consults was led by Dr Rita Rakus, backed by Dr Galyna Selezneva, Dr Ariel Haus, Dr Sophie Shotter, Dr Bhavjit Kaur, Dr Mayoni Gooneratne, Dr Elizabeth Hawkes, Dr Joshua van der Aa and Dr Ayah Siddiqi.
It was lovely to meet so many of you whom I ‘know’ from your Instagram handles, and chatting with some of the 250 visitors who came along, I felt that most people were much more openly curious about all the possibilities on offer – and less reticent than three years ago. Dr Rakus felt the same (she thought you were all lovely, highly engaged and very savvy about tweakments. I told her you all do your research!). She did a talk about the increasing popularity of devices like EMface and Deleo Cristal Pro body shaping. It’s not that people have gone off toxin and fillers, but often, they want to start their aesthetic journey with something else.
Massive thanks to all the brands who supported the event – many of whom offered free treatments on the evening, from facials, via RF needling, to fat freezing (I can tell you, those spots were snapped up pretty quickly) – the premium sponsors were Deleo with their Cristal Pro cryolipolysis, Advanced Nutrition Programme, Alumier MD and Novus Medical, who brought both Sylfirm X RF Needling, and the Jetpeel.
Supporting sponsors were Profhilo, BTL Aesthetics with EMface and the EMsella chair; Pure Swiss Aesthetics with both its Byonik and Slimyonik devices, the brand new Ultraclear laser, and NeoGen Plasma (yes, the ‘Shirley Ballas’ one). Philip Kingsley’s trichologists Susie Hammond and Lisa Caddy offered introductory assessments, and The Pure Package provided delicious, healthy snacks for everyone. A team from The Tape Agency helped Team Tweakments pull the whole things together (and source the amazing goody-bags).
And then there were even more top doctors, who joined brands to chat to visitors; Dr David Jack paired up with Profhilo, Dr Kam Lally joined Alumier MD, Dr Maryam McMillan explained the benefits of NeoGen, Dr Christine Hall helped the Advanced Nutrition Programme team, and Dr Jinah Yoo lent her expertise to Novus Medical.
Dr Steven Harris brought his ultrasound device to help show visitors what it is, how it works and where it can be useful in aesthetic treatment, and Nick Miedzianowski-Sinclair had the biggest queue of the evening for Visia scans.
Will we do it again? You bet! It will be in the autumn and you can rest assured that all you lovely newsletter subscribers will be the first to hear about it, so if your friends want to come along, tell them to sign up to the newsletter too.
